Slow Version 1

The spring that makes you young

Once upon a time, a kind-hearted old man and old woman lived in a village.

The old man and old woman were poor and had no children.

But, they were spending days joyfully taking good care of sick animals.

One day, the old man went to a mountain to cut wood as usual, and a bird flew to him.

The bird was the one whose broken leg he had healed a few days ago.

The old man walked deep into the forest following the bird.

The old man found a spring there.

He was thirsty so he drank the spring water once.

Thereupon, his appearance became as young as when he was just married.

He was surprised and went back home hurriedly, and told his wife about what had happened to him.

He went to the spring again with his wife.

She also drank the spring water once just like her husband.

Then, she also changed into how she looked when she was just married.

The old man and the old woman who ended up appearing just like they used to when they just got married were living happily.

However, one day, a greedy old man living next door happened to hear their story.

He came over to the old man and the old woman, and asked how they became younger again.

The old man and the old woman were kind enough to let him know about the mysterious spring water.

The greedy old man ran over to the spring right away, and drank water.

However, the greedy old man drank so much water that he ended up becoming a baby.

Since the greedy old man who left to find the spring didn’t come back until late at night, the old man and the old lady went to the spring to find him.

They found a baby crying wrapped in big clothes there.

They didn’t have a child, so they brought the baby home, and raised him and lived happily ever after.
