'휴대'라는 말은 손에 들고 다니거나 몸에 가지고 다닐 수 있는 것을 말해요.
‘휴대’ means to be able to carry in your hands or on you.

‘휴대폰’은 핸드폰하고 같은 뜻이에요.
‘휴대폰' has the same meaning as ‘핸드폰(cellphone)’.

'휴대'라는 단어 뒤에 '쓰다'라는 뜻이 있는 '-용'이라는 글자를 붙이면 ‘휴대용’이 돼요.
When you combine the letter ‘-용', which has the meaning of ‘to use’, with the word ‘휴대', it becomes ‘휴대용'.

그래서 ‘휴대용 자전거’라고 하면 들고 다닐 수 있는 작은 자전거를 말하고요.
So ‘a portable bicycle’ refers to a small bicycle which you can carry around.

‘휴대용 물통’이라고 하면 들고 다닐 수 있는 작은 물통을 말해요.
‘A portable water bottle’ refers to a small water bottle that you can carry around.

'충전'은 “채운다.”라는 뜻을 가지고 있어요.
‘충전' has the meaning of filling something.

휴대폰의 배터리를 채우면 ‘휴대폰 충전’이 되고요.
Charging the battery of your phone would be ‘휴대폰 충전'.

카드에 돈을 넣을 때도 ‘카드 충전’을 했다고 말해요.
We say ‘카드 충전' when putting money onto a card.

그래서 여기 ‘휴대폰 충전대’라고 되어 있잖아요.
It says ‘휴대폰 충전대', right?

휴대폰을 충전할 수 있는 곳이라는 뜻인데요.
It means a place where you can charge your phone.

휴대폰 충전대 괄호 하고 ‘무료’라고 되어 있죠?
You see ‘무료' in parentheses next to ‘휴대폰 충전대', right?

휴대폰을 돈을 내지 않고 충전할 수 있는 곳이라는 말이에요.
It means you can charge your phone at no cost.

한국에서는 많은 식당에서 휴대폰을 충전해 달라고 하면 무료로 충전을 해 줘요.
In Korea, many restaurants offer a free charging service if asked.

이렇게 휴대폰 충전대가 있는 곳도 있고요.
Also, there are many places with free charging stations just like this place.

'분실'이라는 말은 자기도 모르게 물건을 잃어버리는 걸 말해요.
‘분실' means to lose something without knowing.

'분실 시'라고 하면 '분실했을 때'를 말하는 거고요.
‘분실 시' means ‘when you have lost something”.

'책임'은 맡아서 해야 하는 걸 말해요.
‘책임’ means things you have to take on.

그런데 여기에 "분실 시 책임지지 않습니다."라고 되어 있죠?
But it says “분실 시 책임지지 않습니다.”, right?

예를 들어서 식당에 이 말이 쓰여 있다면 어떤 뜻일까요?
What would it mean, for example, if you find this sentence at a restaurant?

식당에서 휴대폰 충전을 부탁했는데, 그 휴대폰이 분실되면, 그 휴대폰이 없어지면, 식당에서 찾아 주거나, 돈을 주지 않겠다는 뜻이에요.
It means if you ask them to charge your phone but your phone is lost, the restaurant wouldn’t find it or provide any monetary compensation.

이 곳에 휴대폰을 충전할 때 돈을 내지 않고 무료로 충전할 수 있다고 해요.
It says when you charge your phone here, you can do so at no cost.

그럼 아무나 충전할 수 있겠죠?
Then anyone can charge their phone, right?

그런데 휴대폰을 잃어버리면 그것까지는 맡아서 해 주지 않는다고 해요.
But if the phone is lost, they wouldn’t take any responsibility for that.

이런 곳에 휴대폰 충전을 해 놓았다면 잘 지켜보고 있어야겠죠?
