When ㄹ is the first character of a word:
라면 [라면] ramyeon
라디오 [라디오] radio
레슨 [레쓴] lesson
When ㄹ is in the second syllable of a word:
우리 [우리] we
나라 [나라] country
사랑해요. [사랑해요.] I love you.
When ㄹ is in a 받침 spot or the last character in a syllable:
물 [물] water
불 [불] fire
울지 마. [울지 마.] Don’t cry.
알잖아. [알자나.] You know that, right?
When a syllable ends in ㄹ and is followed by a syllable that begins in ㄹ:
벌레 [벌레] insect, bug
빨리 [빨리] quickly, fast
Sentence example that contains ㄹ more than once:
우리나라 사람들은 라면 다 좋아해. 알잖아.
[우리나라 사람드른 라면 다 조아해. 알자나.]
Korean people all like ramyeon. You know that.
