귀가 얇다
= to be easily swayed by other people’s opinions, to be easily influenced by others

Meaning Of The Phrase
소리는 귀를 통해서 듣고, 다른 사람들이 하는 말도 귀를 통해서 듣죠? 귀를 ‘필터’라고 생각했을 때, 다른 사람의 말에 너무 쉽게 영향을 받거나, 다른 사람의 말을 듣고 의견을 쉽게 바꾸는 사람을 “귀가 얇다”라고 묘사할 수 있습니다. 정말로 귀가 얇다는 뜻이 아니고, 다른 사람에게 쉽게 설득이 되거나 다른 사람의 말에 너무 많이 영향을 받는 것을 가리킵니다.

You hear sound through your ears and therefore you can say that your ears are the first layer of filtering that you have for what other people say. So this figurative expression means that if your ears are thin, you won’t be able to block out words as easily and therefore get more easily swayed by someone else’s opinion. So when you see someone who is easily influenced by other people’s words and changes their opinion too quickly, you can say this phrase about that person.

= I didn’t buy it because I’m easily influenced, but because this is a really good one.

9. 귀가 얇으니까 홈쇼핑은 보지 말아요.
= Since you are easily influenced, don’t watch home shopping shows.

‘얇다’라고 할 때는 ㄹ만 발음해요.
When you say 얇다, you only pronounce the ㄹ.

네. ㄹ만 발음하고, 그리고 뒤의 ‘다’를 ‘따’라고 된소리로 발음을 하죠.
