경은: 주연 씨는 어떤 음식을 제일 좋아해요?
Kyeong-Eun: Jooyeon, what kind of food do you like the most?

주연: 저는 새우 요리 좋아해요.
Jooyeon: I like shrimp dishes.

경은: 아, 새우 요리 좋아해요?
Kyeong-Eun: Ah, you like shrimp dishes?

주연: 네. 해산물 좋아해요. 언니는 해산물 좋아해요?
Jooyeon: Yes. I like seafood. Do you like seafood?

경은: 너무 좋아해요. 게, 새우 이런 거 정말 좋아해요.
Kyeong-Eun: I love it. Crab, shrimp, I love things like that.

주연: 저도요. 게, 새우, 회 이런 거 정말 좋아해요.
Jooyeon: Me, too. Crab, shrimp, sashimi, I love those sorts of things.

경은: 저는 사실 회는 별로 안 좋아해요.
Kyeong-Eun: I actually don’t like sashimi that much.

주연: 정말요?
Jooyeon: Really?

경은: 저는 초밥은 좋아하는데 회는 별로 안 좋아해요.
Kyeong-Eun: I like sushi, but I don’t really like sashimi.

주연: 신기하네요.
Jooyeon: That’s interesting.

경은: 그럼 고기는 별로 안 좋아해요?
Kyeong-Eun: So do you not like meat that much?

주연: 고기도 좋아해요. 그런데 많이 좋아하지는 않아요. 언니, 싫어하는 음식 있어요?
Jooyeon: I like meat. But I don’t like it a lot. Kyeong-Eun, is there any food you don’t like?

경은: 어렸을 때는 싫어하는 음식이 정말 많았어요. 편식이 심했어요.
Kyeong-Eun: When I was young, there were lots of foods that I didn’t like. I was really picky.

주연: 진짜요?
Jooyeon: Really?

경은: 고기만 먹고 파, 양파, 이런 것들 다 안 먹었어요. 그런데 지금은 다 잘 먹어요. 부대찌개만 별로 안 좋아해요.
Kyeong-Eun: I only ate meat, but I didn’t eat any of those things like onions, or leeks. But now I eat everything. Budae Jjigae is the only thing I don’t really like.

주연: 햄을 별로 안 좋아해요?
Jooyeon: Do you not like ham very much?

경은: 네. 저는 햄 종류를 안 좋아해요. 그것만 빼면 다 좋아해요. 주연 씨는요?
Kyeong-Eun: No. I don’t like any kind of ham. Except for that, I like everything. What about you?

주연: 저는 당근을 싫어해요. 당근의 맛이 싫어요.
Jooyeon: I hate carrots. I don’t like the flavor of carrots.

경은: 저도 당근 싫어요. 그런데 제 딸도 당근을 싫어해요.
Kyeong-Eun: I don’t like carrots, either. My daughter also hates carrots.

주연: 애들은 거의 대부분 당근을 싫어해요.
Jooyeon: Most kids hate carrots.

경은: 맞아요. 그런데 저는 엄마니까 딸 앞에서는 억지로 먹어요.
Kyeong-Eun: Right. But because I’m a mom, I force myself to eat them in front of my daughter.

주연: 아, 엄마는 진짜 힘든 직업이네요.
Jooyeon: Ah, being a mom is a hard job.

경은: 맞아요.
Kyeong-Eun: That’s right.
