경은: 주연 씨는 이상형이 어떻게 돼요?
Kyeong-Eun: Jooyeon, what is your ideal type?

주연: 저는 듬직한 사람이 좋아요.
Jooyeon: I like reliable people.

경은: 덩치가 큰 사람이요?
Kyeong-Eun: Someone who is well-built?

주연: 덩치가 큰 사람도 좋고, 성격이 듬직한 사람도 좋아요. 좀 제가 기댈 수 있는 사람이 좋아요.
Jooyeon: Someone who is well-built is good, someone who has a firmly rooted personality is good, too. I like someone who I can lean on.

경은: 그런데 그런 사람들은 좀 무뚝뚝하지 않아요?
Kyeong-Eun: But aren’t those type of people a bit blunt?

주연: 좀 그런 것 같아요.
Jooyeon: It does seem that way.

경은: 그럼 재미있는 사람보다 무뚝뚝한 사람이 좋아요?
Kyeong-Eun: So do you like someone who is blunt over someone who is funny?

주연: 아니요. 그건 아니에요. 그런데 재미가 있고 말을 잘하는 사람은 대개 듬직한 느낌은 안 들어요.
Jooyeon: No. That’s not it. But people who are funny and good at speaking usually don’t have that reliable vibe.

경은: 진짜 그런 것 같아요.
Kyeong-Eun: It really seems that way.

주연: 언니는요?
Jooyeon: What about you?

경은: 저는 다정하고 자상한 사람을 좋아해요. 그래서 무뚝뚝한 사람은 싫어요.
Kyeong-Eun: I like someone who is warm and thoughtful. So I don’t like blunt people.

주연: 외모는요?
Jooyeon: What about appearances?

경은: 전 덩치가 있는 사람은 별로예요.
Kyeong-Eun: I don’t really like built people.

주연: 아, 마른 사람이 좋아요?
Jooyeon: Ah, you like thin people?

경은: 네. 저는 좀 마른 사람이 좋아요. 그런데 이상형이랑 결혼하는 사람은 거의 없는 것 같아요.
Kyeong-Eun: Yes. I like people who are a bit thin. But I think most people don’t get married to their ideal type.

주연: 그래요? 그런데 이상형을 딱 정하기도 힘든 것 같아요.
Jooyeon: Really? But I think it’s difficult to decide on your exact ideal type.

경은: 맞아요. 그래도 결혼하기 전에 자기가 좋아하는 스타일을 아주 구체적으로 정하면 좋아요.
Kyeong-Eun: Right. Even so, before getting married it’s good to concretely decide on the type you like.

주연: 그럼 눈이 너무 높아지지 않을까요?
Jooyeon: But wouldn’t I become too picky that way?

경은: 그래도 자기가 좋아하는 스타일을 알면 너무 좋아요. 결혼하면 도움이 많이 돼요.
Kyeong-Eun: Even so, it’s really good to know the style that you like. It helps for when you get married.

주연: 저도 그렇게 해 볼게요.
Jooyeon: I’ll try it that way.
