경은: 주연 씨, 요즘 무슨 책 읽고 있어요?
Kyeong-Eun: Jooyeon, what book are you reading these days?

주연: 저는 요즘에 기욤 뮈소 책 읽고 있어요. 책 제목은 “당신 거기 있어 줄래요?”예요.
Jooyeon: I’m reading a Guillaume Musso book. The title is “Will You Be There?”

경은: 기욤 뮈소 프랑스 작가 맞아요?
Kyeong-Eun: Isn’t Guillaume Musso a French author?

주연: 네, 맞아요. 프랑스 작가들이 한국에서 인기가 많은 것 같아요.
Jooyeon: Yes, that’s right. It seems like French authors are really popular in Korea.

경은: 맞아요. 베르나르 베르베르도 한국에서 인기가 많아요.
Kyeong-Eun: Right. Bernard Werber is also popular in Korea.

주연: 신기해요. 그런데 제가 기욤 뮈소 책을 여러 권 읽었는데 내용이 거의 다 비슷해요.
Jooyeon. It’s interesting. I’ve read a few of Guillaume Musso’s books, but the contents are all quite similar.

경은: 사실 저도 두 권 읽었어요. 그런데 그 두 권 내용이 거의 비슷해서 헷갈려요.
Kyeong-Eun: I’ve actually read two, myself. But the contents of the two are so similar I get confused.

주연: 언니는 요즘 무슨 책 읽고 있어요?
Jooyeon: What book are you reading these days?

경은: 저는 책 세 권 정도를 동시에 읽고 있어요.
Kyeong-Eun: I’m reading 3 books at the same time.

주연: 진짜요? 그럼 헷갈리지 않아요?
Jooyeon: Really? Don’t you get confused that way?

경은: 주로 장르가 다른 책들을 읽어요. 그래서 헷갈리지 않아요.
Kyeong-Eun: I’m mainly reading books from different genres. So I don’t get confused.

주연: 어떤 장르를 읽어요?
Jooyeon: Which genres are you reading?

경은: 저는 자기 계발서를 좋아해요. 그래서 자기 계발서랑 경영 관련 책이랑 육아 관련 책을 읽어요.
Kyeong-Eun: I like self-improvement books. So I read self-improvement books, books about management and books about child care.

주연: 저는 자기 계발서를 너무 싫어해요.
Jooyeon: I hate self-help books.

경은: 왜요?
Kyeong-Eun: Why?

주연: 저는 의심이 많아요. 그래서 그런 책을 읽으면 의심이 들어요.
Jooyeon: I’m skeptical. So when I read that kind of book I get doubtful.

경은: 그래요? 저도 의심이 많아요. 그렇지만 그런 책을 읽고 그대로 하기 위해 노력해요. 주연 씨는 어떤 장르를 좋아해요?
Kyeong-Eun: Really? I’m skeptical too. But even so, when I read that sort of book, I try to emulate it. What genres do you like, Jooyeon?

주연: 저는 판타지 소설을 좋아해요.
Jooyeon: I like fantasy novels.

경은: 해리 포터 같은 거요?
Kyeong-Eun: Like Harry Potter?

주연: 네. 해리 포터 정말 좋아해요.
Jooyeon: Yes. I really like Harry Potter.
