이번에는 음식에 대해서 이야기를 할 거예요.
Today, we’ll be talking about food.

그중에서 배달해 먹는 음식에 대해서 이야기를 할 건데요.
More specifically, we’ll be talking about delivery food.

여러분의 나라에서는 어떤 음식들을 배달해 먹어요?
What kinds of food do you order for delivery in your country?

한국에서는 거의 모든 음식들을 배달해 먹을 수 있어요.
In Korea, you can almost order everything for delivery.

옛날에는 짜장면, 탕수육, 짬뽕, 이런 음식들만 배달을 할 수 있었어요.
In the past, you could only order foods like Jjajang noodles (Black Bean Noodles), Tangsuyuk (Sweet and Sour Pork), and Jjambbong (Spicy Seafood Noodles).

그런데 요즘에 배달을 할 수 있는 앱이 생긴 거예요.
But now, there is an app for ordering delivery food.

그 앱을 통해서 다양한 음식들을 주문할 수 있는데요,
Through that app you can order various kinds of food.

중국 음식뿐만 아니라 떡볶이, 튀김 등의 분식도 주문할 수 있고요,
You can order not only Chinese food, but also snack food like Tteokbokki and deep fried food.

그리고 감자탕, 그런 국물이 있는 음식들도 배달을 해 먹을 수 있게 되었습니다.
You can even order food with soup, like Gamjatang (Pork Bone Stew).

심지어는 빵을 주문할 수가 있어요.
You can even order bread.

아침에 먹을 수 있는 식빵 종류도 주문할 수 있고요,
You can order toasts for breakfast,

디저트 종류의 음식도 배달해서 먹을 수 있게 되었습니다.
can also eat other dessert type food by ordering.

진짜 편해졌죠.
It’s so much easier, right?

여러분, 맛집이라는 말 들어 보셨나요?
Have you guys heard of the word “맛집?”

어떤 식당이 너무너무 맛이 있으면,
If a restaurant is really, really good,

한국 사람들은 30분이건, 1시간이건 기다려서 그 집에서 밥을 먹길 원해요.
Koreans will wait 30 minutes or an hour to eat at that restaurant.

그런 곳을 맛집이라고 말을 하는데요,
We call these restaurants “맛집,"

이제는 그렇게 기다릴 필요가 없어졌어요.
but now there is no need to wait.

왜냐하면, 맛집 음식들을 배달해 주는 그런 곳이 생겼거든요.
Because now there are services that deliver food from 맛집.

이제는 제가 원하는 맛집을 검색을 해서 배달을 해 먹고 싶다고 선택을 하면
Now, if I search a 맛집 I want for delivery and select it,

배달을 전문적으로 해 주는 업체가 저희 집으로 또는 사무실로 배달을 직접 해 줘요.
a specialized delivery company will deliver it to my home or office.

그래서 다양한 곳에 있는 맛집의 음식들을 먹어 볼 수 있게 되었어요.
So now, we are able to taste food from 맛집 in various places.

심지어는 저는 서울에 사는데요, 속초에 있는 아주 맛있는 닭강정 집이 있습니다.
Furthermore, I live in Seoul, and there is a very delicious Dakgangjeong place in Sokcho.

아주아주 유명한 곳인데요.
It’s really, really famous.

그것도 속초에서 서울까지 배달해서 먹을 수가 있게 되었어요.
You can order for delivery from Sokcho to Seoul.

물론 직접 찾아가서 먹는 재미도 있겠지만,
Of course, visiting in person and trying the food can be fun,

편안하게 집에서 배달을 해 먹는 것도 재밌는 것 같아요.
but I think it’s also fun to just stay comfortable and eat delivery food at home.
