    = I open the lid.

Meaning

 

놓다 (original meaning)

= to put something somewhere

 

놓다 (as a helping verb)

: the main verb action is done and the result is maintained



Examples

 

  1. 문 닫을까요?
    = Should I close the door?
    문 닫아 놓을까요?
    = Should I leave the door closed?

 2. 내 컴퓨터 고쳐.
= Fix my computer.
내 컴퓨터 고쳐 놔.
= Get my computer fixed.
*고치다 = to fix

3. 그 사람한테 말했어요.
= I told him/her.
그 사람한테 말해 놨어요.
= I told him/her. (He/She would be aware of it.)

4. 2시까지 준비해요.
= Prepare by 2 o'clock.
2시까지 준비해 놔요.
= Finish preparing by 2 o'clock.
